As you can see throughout my portfolio , I have made music videos , commercials, and now a movie . However , if I am being honest , the movie was my favorite part . Just the development process of it , was so enticing. Being able to acquire the skillset and knowledge of actual movie actors and shooters was incredible . I learned an incredible amount, for stuff that is done within the movie creating field it was so great. Additionally , my group was very fun to work with . Each of us had a specific role and we exemplified ourselves swiftly in each respective role . For me personally , I was mainly the one who coordinated the filming parts and edited the entire movie . Some people would say the “brains” of the film ! Moreover , the rest of my group, Nicole, Pedro, and Jordyn; were more the hands and feet , as they were the main actors , and heavily assisted in developing ideas to bring forth this great film. We worked and put a-lot of time and effort into this project, form the very start. From deciding on a group with each other, to deciding a movie genre, to creating a pitch, and so much more, into a wonderful introduction of the movie! It has been a long road, but we have finally come to the end of it all. It was really fun to work together with my group into developing this. For me personally, I never knew that I could've created something of this caliber. However, with the assistance of my teachers and friends, i was able to acquire so much skills and knowledge, into the development of this wonderful movie. Moreover, after reviewal of our movie before saving it and putting it away, we did a little editing on some of the titles and things of that sort. We showed a few more people for critiques as we were nervous and we wanted to ensure that we'd get the best score possible.  Today was the day we decided to be the last day to work on our movie. We as a whole, had a-lot of other demands, so we wanted to spend the rest of class, getting this one specifically out the way. Especially, with how far we've come with it. Luckily, Jordyn made a checklist of all of our critiques we've acquired from both of our "film review" sessions. We went throughout the list, to see if these changes were wanted from us as a whole, or whether or not they were necessary for the enhancement of our film. Some of these critique included, the smoothness of our film, the transitions, the lightning, the flow of the sound, adding in more sound, making sure the story flows, and the list goes on. We accepted a-lot of these changes. For example, for lighting we did a-lot of color correcting within several of these clips! We did like the turn out for some of the clips, but not all. For the simple fact that some of the clips did look uneven with the color correction added. Ad...

 Today in class, I was reviewing over the movie a little more. I was just fixing the little stuff, for example spelling, title placement and etc. We just kept watching it over and over again and made some small adjustments. During this time, we took time to chill and play uno with each-other and someone else for another group, because we were very punctual with our time, and got everything done, ASAP ! It was really funny, for how everyone else was stressing at this point, and we were just sitting here, prepared and ready, and playing UNO. It is a good feeling to be on top of your work. After we were done with our games of UNO. We watched our videos one more time, made some lighting adjustments and some transition adjustments as-well. After we finished that , we decided to do a "film review" part 2, and went around the class and asked for opinions and to see if there was anything else noticeable to fix on our movie.  Today we added the finishing touches to our movie, it was missing some transitions and some sounds, that would contribute to the opening of the movie. We tried some ideas that we had to see if it would fit in the flow of the movie. Some of our ideas worked, and some did not. Continuously, after we finished up all of our small changes, we saved our video and looked it over a few times. Each person in the group got one person to show the movie too acquire feedback from the person. We all decided to go to one our friends, and we showed it to them. Later within the day, we sent all of the critiques in our group chat, and we discussed over them. Some of the critiques we did not agree with, but some of them were mistakes that we never even realized. For example, turn down the volume on some clips, for the imbalance of sound that it contributed to the film. Another one that was noticed by one of our friends was, cutting out some clips to make the film shorter, and not putting the entire ...

 Today we met and we airdropped all of our videos to the laptop which we will be editing on. We know this is the most time consuming portion of the whole project and the most critical. Majority of our point are going to be coming from this apart as the beginning of a movie definitely needs editing and texts all over it to carry over it's message. Air dropping all these videos took an extremely long time. Some of the files were big and some were small, so this portion took about 30 minutes. To make our load lighter we edited some of the clips as we airdropped them to the laptop. At this point we did not have a title for our movie, so during the transference of the clips, we decided on one the title which will be "The House". We decided on this because the climax of our film, transpires and commences in a house. After we came up with the title, we started to mess around with the different settings on the application. Today was Spring Break and we decided to link up again to finish filming some finishing parts. Since the weather permitted, we were able to film the rest of our scenes. We had to wear the same clothes so our films from the previous times would match each other. We used the drawings and words from the storyboard to match with our filming and that helped the flow of our filming process go extremely fast. We took a break and went to El Camino, to have some tacos and to talk and take a break, it was still spring break, and aside from filming, we wanted to have some fun as well. We took about 2 hours there, just having a multitude of happy hour tacos and some soft drinks as well. Our server there went to Fort Lauderdale as well and took the same AICE Media class we were in and helped us with some of our ideas for our movie. It was really fun to engage with other people rather than classmates that had prior experience in the class. When we left, we went back to the house to do our finishing ...

Today, my group and I filmed the first part of our film. We were only able to shoot certain scenes because we ended up getting rained out and couldn't do the scenes that required us to be outside. We had to move from the beach to the house and had to adjust our plans to one of our partner's houses. The scenes we were able to do were the car scenes, target scenes, and any scenes that involved us being inside the house. Today was a half-day at school so we were able to leave school early which meant we could also start filming early. We all met at Damaine's car where he took us to get chic-fil-a. Rather than going to eat at Pedro's house, we ate in the car so we could do the car scenes at the same time and not have to do them at a later date. After we finished eating we tried to find a Wal-Mart that was near us. We could not find any in our proximity so we decided to opt for Target which was much closer.  Today we had to re-assess our music selection. We had to look up "royalty-free" music before this conversation. We tried to email and direct message them on Instagram, and we never got a response from them. Our filming dates were coming soon, so we had to think of something quick! The music we had to put on was extremely bland and not to our level of music, but we made it work and we had fun with it. We tried to scroll through youtube and had to look for music in the car before we drove off. It was about like 20 different versions of "royalty-free" music. Jordyn was the most difficult during this phase We sat in the car for about 30-minutes trying to figure it out, and during this process, we had grabbed Chic-fil-a and sat in the car for a minute to eat it and enjoy each other's company.  Today in class, we had discussed all of our schedules and how we will fluctuate them, to make them work for everyone to meet. We had to go on each person's job schedules to make sure we were making the best decisions, to where our jobs were concerned. After a lot of juggling, we decided to film on March 17th and March 19th. We had to contact all our parents to make sure, it was okay to do these filming dates with both them and their prior schedule plans. We had different plans to do different things on both filming dates. Considering the time change, we want to film our night shots on Saturdays and our day shots on Thursday. We are going to use a Canon T6 to film instead of a regular camera, to allow for better quality within the filming. Additionally, our plan would be to get food after school, and fellowship.  Today is the first day we actually started to go deep into the preparation of our movie. With finalizing our emailing the producers of the music we intend to use. We were trying to figure out how to access the emails of the artists/producers of the song, but we were unsuccessful. We did not know that the contact information of the artists would be so hard to achieve. So we went on Instagram and Direct messaged, Kesha and LMFAO, inquire for the permission to use the music. Also, we figured the placement of the songs within our film. Alongside that we tried to look for back up songs in case that these artists did not get back to us. So we went on youtube to look for copy righted music and we also did direct message smaller artists, knowing we will have a better opportunity to get in contact with them. We are trying to find songs that are more up beat and full of vibes. This will connect with the overall intention we are trying to bring across with the vibe of the scene in which the ...

Location- Our movie location will be at our group member Pedro Ribeiro's house, his house allows us to fully carry out our script for the movie and it is overall the perfect set for this movie. Additionally we will film a scene at a walmart/target. Participants- The participants of this movie will consist of our whole group of: Pedro Ribeiro, Damaine Thomson, Nicole Tarantino, and Jordyn Jackson. Another participant will be Pedro's sister who will be the camera man for certain scenes. Health/Safety- For the sake of having the most safe and protected filming environment our group decided that we will wear masks the whole time besides when filming, additionally after every filming session we will get tested for covid-19.
